 DIVERSITY IN DANGER IS DIVERSITY ENDANGERED.



My inspiration to write this poem – The adverse effect of climate change and rapid urbanization have an adverse effect on our plant genetic resources, which are vital sources to start any crop improvement or breeding program. some plants even get extinct without even being characterized and this loss of diversity may affect our future goals to make high-yielding and disease resistance varieties as we need genes that can offer genetic resistance as well as high yield, so we need to conserve our plant genetic resource for our future. 



From tropical to temperate
From desert to marine
Plants speak a lot
As nature is green.

From trees to herbs
From Medicine to flower
They have infinite use
This is nature"s power.

But this diversity is at threat
Diversity is in danger
And we are looking to it
Just like a stranger.

We need to conserve
We need to protect
we need to care plants
To reduce negative impact

This diversity is nature”s gift
The future of tomorrow
If we lost this today
We will live in sorrow.

So we will stand together
With all our force
Just to make strong
Our plant genetic resource.

Food is one of the components of our life, which we often take for granted sometimes. If one has faced the difficulty of getting food even for one day, He can understand the vitality of this component. For keeping us energetic and proper growth and development, it is very essential that we don't only focus on food, but more on the nutritional aspect of the food.
